The wait was too long for the whole night for massage session I had been waiting for! Exactly sharp at 6:15 am we got a call from the massage parlor and I was right there in 10 minutes of time. Wow, it was a lovely cozy room with a special wooden massage bed, it was too cold early in the morning as it was raining very heavily and the lukewarm oil being poured all over my body by the massagers there, made me feel like I am on cloud number 9, really it was an exciting feeling coz’ this was my first ever experience of Kerala Massage. Each of my body muscles felt like they are coming to Kerala day 2life, each nerves felt they are being pushed of fresh oxygen. Overall, it was one of the greatest experiences I ever had in my life. The massage continued for nearly 1 hour then came the time for steam bath, I was a little amazed by the little sitting box they had made specially for steam, you got to sit inside with the face out and then you get locked in that wooden box. I liked the way it went because I dint had to feel the steam on my face, it was a creative one whoever invented it! After steam came the herbal steam bath, the bath water was kept in earthen pots filled with medicinal herbs, leaves, which was poured all over the body. It was a total rejuvenating and exciting experiences here.

Back in the hotel after having my breakfast, I was hurriedly packing my bags for another exciting experience that was traveling from Alleppey to Kottayam through the house boats, Kerala is one of the beautiful places to enjoy back waters and so I was here riding in a boat on the upper deck, I was thrilled by the vastness of the sea and varieties of house boats which were sailing across the vast sea, all were unique and beautiful, the traditional house boat which can only be seen in Kerala, India. It was an open sunny day with clear skies and no rains so I could enjoy looking at bushy forests land and some aquatic plants too! The ride continued for nearly 3 hours and it was one of the best experiences up till now in Kerala, I could see the chirping birds across the sea, with wide varieties of plantations at the sides, beautiful traditional kerala temples and lots of coconut trees around. The sky was clear, the sun was out and there was no rain still it felt like a wonderful land truly god made, I felt the presence of God around, there was so much of peace and serenity around.

After reaching Kottayam, it was time for lunch, so we rented one place where we could cook and eat the food, it was an enjoying meal, as through morning my day was action packed with wondrous massage in the morning. Then we had to take up bus to reach our hotel at Thekkady which is a hill station, the roads were winding round and round and it seemed like there is no end to these roads, the cool breeze, enchanting climate and small water falls made us feel like we are truly in Nature’s lap, in all its glory. Then came a bigger waterfall, where all of us got down to have a little shower bath, the water was chilled like an ice but it truly made our day. It was much relaxing after reaching our hotel rooms as we had got a nice accommodation with Mountain View from our window.

Just after the hotel check-in I thought of just browsing through the little market outside our hotel, just walking on the street I could smell the exotic species inside the stores, I walked in one of them and saw some ayurvedic massage oils, herbal face packs, herbal bath soaps, traditional items, and other specialties. It took just no time for me to select the items which I could take back home and gift my family and friends. By the time I came back to hotel I was nearly drop dead tired to even have my dinner, but hunger made me wait unless the dinner started. After dinner, I was planning about tomorrow’s visit to the most famous destinations in Kerala, Periyar Lake! Let’s see what’s in store for me tomorrow!
