Rated as among the top 10 diving destinations on Earth, Phuket is a wonder in itself and so is the Phuket diving. All thanks to the stunning reefs, strange rock formations under water, and vast diversity of marine life all of which together offer some memorable opportunities for the divers who range from novice to experts. There is no doubt that Phuket diving is an outstanding experience in several ways. I am writing this article for those who have never ever dived here, but wish to explore its coral and fish all thriving in the tropical water.

The factor that has played a major role in the uniqueness of Phuket is its geographic location – where this Thai great island stands and what flanks it gives a different touch to the ocean as compared to the other tropical destinations that you know about. Tucked as a pearl in the middle of the famous sea of Andaman, Phuket has a matchless location that elevates it more as compared to the other diving destinations in Thailand. It is easy conclude that this is among the reasons as to why several divers frequently visit this island year after year. In just simple terms, Phuket is the sole area that offers diving to explore all of the major attractions in Thailand with frequent liveaboard trips that make you even discover the celebrated Similan Islands, Burma, Richelieu Rock, and Hin Daeng.

Phuket diving is not restricted to this much fun only. In fact, it extends far beyond your imagination. Diving in Phuket also makes you explore a plethora of fascinating local adventures such as the underwater gems of the King Cruiser ferry wreck. Talking about photography while diving here, you are always ensured to capture the shots of some unusual or rare species residing underwater, which is surely encouraging and exciting too. Try catching the shot of the leopard sharks that are seen at the Shark Point and at Koh Phi Phi. At Racha Noi South Point, you get the sole opportunity to be with the manta rays as well as spot whales.

I am sure you must be eager to know about the diving season. Casually, you can come to Phuket and explore all its dive spots any time in the year. However, to dive during the ideal conditions, come here from November to April. In case of the remaining months, monsoon winds tend to reduce the water visibility by some 30 percent and flood the coast via rains. However, the diving trips are rarely terminated; in fact, a few sites are simply good in the low season. The recommended season of Phuket diving is also the liveaboard season. However, kindly note that there limited liveaboard safari cruises for the Similan as well as the Phi Phi Islands.
